how to give volume to a shape or a character ?
It’s projected light onto the form which will give its relief. It’s a play of shadow and light. For a cube or another flat forms, it’s rather easy but how to to do for the round or oval forms ?

I am currently subscribed to an online drawing course (DTO). I first took a week (1st week is free) and then a month of classes and now I am registered in the year. As I am delighted by these courses, I decided to take also courses in painting.
If I learn the drawing, it’s not to realize an attractive nude or a lifelike portrait. It’s also and especially to get to draw whatever comes into my head.
Hello,
Today, I show you a sketch realized freehand and without setting of mark before beginning the drawing. I followed the way of proceeding learnt during the course of online drawing on which I am now registered: DTO.
Hello,
I continue my learning of the drawing with DTO and I just learned that it is useful to draw a line of separation between shadow and light on its drawing. Given that I am French, and Given that I understands very badly the American, I don’t know if I understood everything. But here is my experience.
Hello,
I made a new sketch – exercise for the drawing class DTO. The purpose of this exercise is to have a just line. We must draw a female bust freehand (without grid). It’s a hard work for me because I usually have to press hard with my pencil. Then, it is difficult to erase if it does not go. Therefore I prepare before I start.
Hello,
Until now, I was doing an online drawing course, french course, but courses stagnate and I don’t progress. So, I’ve started a new drawing class online: ‘drawing tutorials online’. Thanks to this course (by video) I understood I pressed far too much on my pen and my line isn’t sure. What is more, I’m almost incapable to draw by imagination. So, I have got a lot of work in prospect.
